Introduction: Bajaj Chetak, a renowned name in the Indian two-wheeler market, is once again in the news, this time with its new electric scooter, the Chetak 3503. The Bajaj Chetak 3503 is a recently launched electric scooter that is the most affordable model in the Chetak 35 series. It has been launched at a price of Rs. 1.10 lakh ex-showroom. This scooter not only takes forward the trusted legacy of Bajaj but also is a perfect combination of new technology and modern design.

The Chetak 3503 is specifically designed for urban commuters who value style, comfort, and sustainability while keeping budget in mind. The sturdy metal body, eclectic color options, and an impressive range of 155 km make it a powerful option in its segment.

However, the 3503 is different in performance, with a slightly lower claimed top speed of 63 kmph. Talking about the difference in price, the Chetak 3503 is almost Rs 20,000 more economical than the 3501 variant.

Design: The design of the Bajaj Chetak 3503 makes it completely different from the rest of the electric scooters. Its retro-inspired look reminds us of the old Chetak, but with a modern touch, it has been made stylish for today's youth. The LED headlamp and ring-shaped drills at the front give it a unique face, while the smooth curves and flush fitting make its finishing better.

Electric motor and performance: Chetak 3503 is equipped with a high-torque electric motor that generates 3.2 kW of power. This motor is powered by a 3.5 kWh IP67-rated lithium-ion battery, which is dust and water resistant. The top speed of the scooter is 63 kmph, which is considered sufficient for city traffic and daily commutes.

Acceleration is smooth and silent as the electric motor gives variable torque without gear shifting. The reverse mode also proves to be quite helpful in parking.

Colours & variants: The Bajaj Chetak 35 series has three variants—3501, 3502, and 3503. Bajaj is selling the Chetak 3503 in four colours, indigo blue, brooklyn black, cyber white, and matte grey.

Features: It seems that the company wanted to make the Chetak brand a little more accessible to Indian consumers. This was made possible by reducing the price, and to achieve this, fewer features have been given in the scooter.

In terms of features, the bike has a full metal body and basic Bluetooth function with a color LCD screen that displays basic information like speed, battery status, ride modes, and odometer. The Bajaj Chetak 3503 is based on the same platform as other models in the 35 series, except that it comes with the same 3.5 kWh battery pack. Since it shares the chassis with other variants of the 35 series, it gets the same massive 35-liter undersheet storage.

Disadvantages: First of all, it lacks a standard Bluetooth cluster, long charging time and dynamic turn indicators. While the Chetak 3503 has the same battery pack as the other two variants, its maximum speed is 63kmpl. However, the riding range is slightly higher at 151 km.

The e-scooter takes a little longer to charge, reaching 80 kmph in 3 hours and 25 minutes, while the other variant of the Chetak 35 takes 3 hours to charge. Unlike its brothers and sisters, it doesn't have sequential indicators, and the front disc brake has been swapped for a drum unit and hill hold assist.
